5 New Year’s Skincare Resolutions for Beautiful, Radiant Skin

New Year's Resolutions for Naturally Beautiful Skin

Winter is in full swing, and there’s no doubt that it can wreak havoc on your skin. Luckily, beautiful skin is possible any time of year as long as you work at it. With a few habits, it isn’t difficult to keep your skin looking amazing, all year long and for years to come. To help you along the way, here are five beauty resolutions for beautiful skin that you can carry into the New Year.

  1. Moisturize at Night

Most homes have heaters constantly running this time of year, and it’s drying out your skin. Even those who aren’t prone to dry skin are likely to feel the burn of cold winter winds and humidity free indoor air. One of the easiest ways to fight the drying effects of the season is to use a strong moisturizer at night.

Since you don’t have to layer anything over the moisturizer at night, you can use products that are much more moisturizing that you would during the day. For example, our Rejuvenating Face Oil helps bring a youthful glow back to your complexion and the antioxidant-rich formula use in natural skincare products help fight damaging causing free radicals too.

  1. Gentle Exfoliation

Dry, flaky skin is a common burden during the winter season. To help rid your face and body of dry, damaged skin, exfoliation is the key. And if you are experiencing and winter-related skin sensitivity, the gentler, natural skincare approach is often better.

One natural way to exfoliate is with adzuki bean powder. You can either purchase the powder from certain specialty markets or make your own from dried adzuki beans. Once you have the powder, simply mix it with a small amount of warm water to form a paste. Then, wet your skin and apply to the mixture using a gentle, circular massaging motion. After a few minutes, simply rinse with warm water. Use no more than three times per week (less if you are prone to sensitivity).

  1. Care for Your Scalp

Winter weather isn’t your hair’s best friend. While most people amp up the moisture in their haircare routine, many forget that healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. You can help set the foundation for great hair by using our Ayurvedic Hair Oil designed to be as nourishing to your scalp as it is to hair. Then, you can have the best of both worlds with a single product.

  1. Bathe Your Skin Properly

Nothing feels as soothing on a cold, winter day as a nice warm bath. But sitting in the water can actually pull moisture from your skin. So, what is the best way to enjoy a relaxing soak without any negative effects on your skin? Use a bath and body oil featuring moisturizing nutrients. You can add some to bath water to help protect skin, then rub in what remains after your bath. Skincare oils are excellent for deeply moisturizing skin. You can also use it after an exfoliating treatment and shower to help protect newly revealed skin and a radiant glow.

  1. Wear Sunscreen

Just because the sun isn’t always shining, you’re spending more time indoors, and you have on extra clothing layers, that doesn’t mean you should put sunscreen aside. Even during the winter, your skin is exposed to UVA and UVB rays that can lead to skin damage and sunburns. If there’s snow on the ground, the light is even reflected off its surface, making a sunburn even more likely.

Every morning, make sure to use an appropriate sunscreen on your face and body. Making sunscreen an everyday habit is a New Year’s resolution everyone should keep, as it is a simple step that can help you keep skin beautiful from head to toe.
